Richard Gadd has made a fixed version with a patched MasterDOS so it works with just 1Mb in slot 1.
It has also been converted to work on B-DOS with just 512Kb and handles the switching of records when installed on HDD. If external memory is detected it uses custom written "helper" code to handle the copying of files between external and internal memory entirely from BASIC.
Since the original release of the fixed version, there is now an updated version of disk 1 where the "helper" code has been rewritten. It is now less than half the size and executes from external memory so no longer requires a spare internal page of memory (for temporary storage) hence the copying of data is now more than twice as fast.
The updated "helper" code also means that the 6 screens are now copied to external memory when 2Mb is detected as these can easily be loaded directly into the two pages where the screen is currently located. Previously the second Mb was only used to store 2 code files that would not fit in 1Mb. Note that for completeness the same change (i.e. copying of the 6 screens) has also been made to the updated MasterDOS version when enough memory is detected.
