Command-line tool to read/write SAM-format floppy disks on a Windows PC . Written around the time of Windows95/98 because I couldn't seem to get any of the existing tools to work on my PC. Uses djgpp . Entirely possible that this tool will not work on modern PCs at all and has probably never been used by anybody other than me :-)

SAM-format floppy disk <-> .dsk file convertor
This utility creates .dsk files from 3.5" floppy disks that have been formatted for the SAM Coupe machine. It can also store onto a suitably formatted disk the contents of an already existing .dsk file, thus enabling the use of .dsk files on actual SAM Coupe hardware.
A single .dsk file contains all the information stored on a single floppy disk, in one easily-exchangeable form. Through the use of this utility, entire floppy disks can be effectively communicated by electronic means by converting them to/from .dsk files. Dsk files are also the means by which the SimCoupe emulator provides emulated floppy disk support.
For more information on the SAM Coupe microcomputer and the SimCoupe emulator (available for PC, Mac and Unix variants) see World of Sam.
DISCLAIMER : do NOT use this utility in a safety-critical environment, or if you particularly value your files, since there is a (small) chance you might lose data. However, I accept absolutely no responsibility for any damage this utility may cause, and you therefore agree to use this utility at your own risk.
NOTES: screwy stuff will probably happen if you try to convert a SAM-format floppy disk into a .dsk file stored on a floppy, unless you have more than one floppy drive. I don't know (as I only have one floppy drive so I can't test it) but, just to be safe, create the .dsk file on hard-drive instead. Same goes for converting a .dsk file into a SAM-format floppy disk. Please note that this utility will not actually FORMAT the floppy disk for you! You may only convert a .dsk file into a SAM-format floppy disk if you already have to hand a floppy disk that has been formatted to SAM format. This utility will merely store the .dsk data onto the floppy disk.
