Hmm SAM2_GB... I had forgotten about that, not sure if Johan is still working on it.  When ive finished a few other bits i might have to see if I can take that on to finish it up.

 

Okay, I wanna play at being responsible and transparent!  As of August 2026, I'm actively working on the following:

  • Stop the Express
  • Cobra
  • Outrun
  • R-Type
  • Netkarts (new IP!  Networked Mario Kart-style racer)

...and currently dormant but still in play:

  • Thrust
  • Splitting Images
  • Reckless Rufus
  • Celeste

I have other music projects in play for other people but that's their trumpet to blow.  There are more ideas in the mix that will likely never see the light of day too barring some miracle-level event like getting the sack.

A good year would mean one of these comes out before Christmas, a medium year might have a complete wildcard take my fancy

As someone with no Facebook presence, I wish this forum were more active. So, you know, ethic of reciprocity and all that...

I'm primarily working on a 2.5d driving title at present. It's this one. As I'm one of the many that is much better at technical proofs of concept then, well, we'll see.

The span-buffer stuff underneath it is supposed to give me a reasonable shot at 'acceptable' solid 3d. We'll see about that too.

It has struck me with hindsight that I've accidentally chanced upon a pipeline that is ideal for the 1MB expansion; it's a lot of code that modifies a lot of off-screen buffers, then differences them and writes only the diffs to the frame buffer. My current paging scheme isn't ideal for a three-minute adaptation but it might be worth looking into post hoc as a separate target.
