Biography

Stock from SAM Computers Limited were bought by West Coast Computers in November 1992. West Coast was essentially run by Format Publications under Bob Brenchley.

They dropped the GameStar model that had 256K of memory from the books and retooled the SAM Coupé into the SAM élite with 512K memory and an external parallel printer connector fed from the Floppy drive connector and added to the rear of the plastic case.

The SAM élite also used standard 3.5" floppy drives due to the Citizen slim drives being unavailable which required a cut out on the front of the drive face plastic.

West Coast was placed into liquidation in February 2005.
