SAMonline

I Know - im sorry - it is really REALLY close - now if we have a quick collection and can get me some cash so i can not do my day job for a week it would be done alot quicker ;)

Sorry Adrian, I should have made it sound like since SAM started rather than since the Trinity was released. I do appreciate you all have jobs to do and SAM is more of a hobby nowadays but it doesn’t stop us all from wanting it tho! Keep up the good work and we’ll see it whenever it arrives ;)

Time, or the lack of, is the problem we all have!

The main codebase for SAMonline is well underway, and as soon as Adrian has the TCP/IP up and running enough to be able to fetch data from the net then I should get the SAMonline client software out there pretty quickly.

It’s great to see a few programmers working together on SAM. Simon Owen has done the Trinity Ethernet driver software to provide the link between code and talking to the ethernet controller, and Adrian is plugging away at the full stack. Cheers chaps :)

I always knew this piece of hardware would blow the SAM scene open again. I just hope it inspires people to start using their SAM’s again. It should really start pulling the community together. Fingers crossed it will start people creating again as it will be easy for others to download stuff. We’ve really lost that since most of the disk mags disappeared. Onwards and upwards. Good work so far chaps ;)

Well, i manage to fix a few bugs tonight and now the sam coupe has managed to do correct TCP/IP handshaking and send an HTTP GET request across the internet :D Unfotunately its an invalid request, but it sent it and got the invalid reply back - so its getting there :D

And Adrian has done it!

The SAM sends out the HTTP GET request and receives the data back and displays it on screen. A fantastic achievement sir! SAM is now properly online!

… the can is fully open and the worms are now wriggling out… :)

I’m itching now to get the TCP/IP code from Adrian integrated into the code I’ve written so far for SAMonline and get all the contents pages written….
