The game is only as ‘boring’ and ‘unplayable’ as any other version of Prince of Persia, considering this was one of the first titles ever released on the Sam its very impressive, obviously when compared to the later standards of Sam titles it is getting on now and does lack the qualities found in the average decent Sam title - equaly it puts to shame many (or indeed most) of the much later Sam titles. All that said though the game shows what the machine is capable of, and although the Sam Coupe lacks the speed of the Amiga & ST when it comes to gaming in general, Prince of Persia is a good example of how the average gaming platform would’ve performed on the Sam, had software houses’ve took the Sam seriously. Unfortunaly as we’re all aware 8-Bit technology was no longer seen as a viable solution for gaming in the early 90’s and its just too bad the Sam wasn’t released alot earlier as originaly planned.
